62 - Blow Dry

Canon 5DmkII, 70-200mm IS + 2X at 180mm, iso1000, 1/180 sec at f/5.6

There is a way that nature speaks, that land speaks. Most of the time we are simply not patient enough, quiet enough, to pay attention to the story. Linda Hogan

Mike,

You got him exposed nicely. The beauty of bird photography is that the behavior is so predictable.

Your image is as beautiful of the byline.

The details are so sharp and the cormorant (a difficult subject to get exposure right) is so perfectly exposed.

This is excellent! I love the diagonal flow - the shape of the log, the bird, and the grass (reeds?). I also like the repetition between the lines of the feathers and the grass.
